Going back to Rome

Just got done a weekend in Amsterdam. Wow. Amazing time with so many amazing memories.

Last night I did karaoke in a crazy bar with crazy Amsterdam soccer fans. Me and my friend Rhi did a duet to I want to hold your Hand by the Beatles. It was epic. We have videos and pictures from it and will put it up soon on the blog.

We also went dancing, made friends with a local bartender Dillan and toured through the red light district. Very cool.

Talk to you when I'm back in Rome,

Ciao!!!

Anne Frank House AND Jewish History Mesuem of Amsterdam

Today I went to Anne Frank's House in the morning. It was fascinating and moving. FOR MOM AND DAD, I brought back a pamphlet IN HEBREW from the Anne Frank House.

Then we went to the Jewish History Museum. I learned A LOT about the rich history the Jews have in Amsterdam. The initial population was of portugese and we got to tour through an old, sephardic synagogue. It was amazing!

Look forward to putting up pictures soon!

AMETERDAM , BEST PLACE EVER!!!!!!

In Amsterdam now, able to blog cause there are laptops at our hostel. It is amazing. The lifestyle here is laidback; and when I say laidback, I mean friendly easygoing people who do not judge us because we're tourists or foreign or American. To illustrate, we were invited by some local firemen today to have a spontaneous tour through the fire house, and taken up on their fire truck 25 meters in the air (REALLY HIGH) to get an amazing view of all of Amsterdam. When we were up there he told us about the sectors of the city. What a nice guy.

The coffeeshops and restaurants here are beautiful. We sat last night at a place and had such a great time. Today we started our day off by taking a tour through the Heineken Museum. WOW! SO MUCH FUN! The museum was ultra high-tech with email centers to send videos over the internet, and interactive screen and rooms with past advertisements and historical lessons about the company. We also got free beers, and I even got a custom beer bottle with my name on it for 5 euro! So cool!

Tonight we are going to see live music and dance in the city square. The weather is beautiful, the people are gracious, and I have never been more relaxed in my life!

Look forward to putting up pictures soon!

Until then, Ciao!!!!

So, until I have actual pictures up, I'll leave with a preview of what we are going to do:
1. Heineken Tour 2. Bike Tour 3. Anne Frank's House 4. Dance 5. Eat a lot 6. Who knows after that...

Until Sunday,

STEAK!

This is my first steak - filet mignon. I ate it at a chic restaurant called "estrobar" which was a winebar/restaurant/art gallery hybrid. It was awesome. Here are some pictures of the food / venue!

Pictures with Explanations

First at the bottom is the picture of me at the Basilica in San Giovanna.
Next is all of us at a home-cooked meal.
After that is me opening up a bottle of wine (I am the designated wine-opener of our group)
Next is me in the Ocean at Sabaudia (proof I went in the water, I'm in the blue surfers shirt)
And finally, here's a zoom out of the beach we went to. Notice the mountain in the distance, awesome!

the Weekend!

Here's some pics from the weekend. Went out to many bars / areas. On friday we went to San Lorenzo, a place where Italian students hang out from the local university, and we got to see a live band play in a tiny, cramped bar. It was awesome!

Soon I'll have pictures up from some of my other drawings.

Ciao!
